Why hire a doula?

  • A doula helps a mother through labor physically, emotionally, and spiritually. They can help with comfort measures and positioning to ease pain, as well as empower a mother to advocate for herself and trust her body. A doula can help give a family a birth experience they are pleased with.

  • A doula is not a medical provider, they do not perform clinical tasks and do not deliver babies. A doula does not give medical advice or make decisions for you. A doula does not replace an OB/Midwife or your partner.

  • A doula will follow you wherever your birth takes place and be there through the entirety of your labor process.

A doula will help to ease pain using a range of techniques from position changes to massages.

A doula can help to ensure your partner is taken care of and help encouage them to be more involved.

A doula can ensure that you have a good understanding of all your options so you can decide what is best for you and your family.

Many families who hire a doula report a more pleasurable experience of birth with less pain and less complications.

  • I recommend meeting your doula as soon as possible. If you are not pregnant yet, you can still schedule a meeting. If you are pregnant, waste no time in meeting with your doula and book with them as soon as possible to ensure they have an opening for your due date.

The initial consultation is free! Once you book with me, we can schedule your first prenatal visit for when you are 20-35 weeks along. A second prenatal visit for 35-37 weeks.

I will be on-call for your labor starting at 38 weeks until your beautiful baby is born!
